I don't know that I will ever forget the Fourth of July in this photo, it was one of Sassys first being able to be outside and participating in the festivities. She wasn't too fond of the bigger loud fireworks but she wanted to do the "sprinkles." She was hesitant but I'd like to think that she knew I wouldn't put her in harms way, so she drew as close to me as she could and we lit her first sparkler. She loved every second of those sparklers, her blue eyes dancing as we twirled the sparklers back and forth making a design. We had spent most of the week together making sure we had painted our toes and "finger tails" with her choice of matching pink glitter nail polish. Like most I would go back and do it all again in a heartbeat, maybe this time hugging her a little tighter and telling her I love you a lotta bit instead of just a little bit. But this year I will paint my finger nails and toes a pretty color and think about her while enjoying the outdoors and maybe even lighting some sparklers just like this.
