Cuddly Comforts

Updated: May 31, 2022

I want you to close your eyes, yes, I know that makes reading hard, so maybe don't close them but imagine you are a 10-year-old who was just told that you weren't able to go back into your house to get your favorite stuffed animal or any of the things that are creature comforts. That means no toothbrush, no deodorant, no socks or anything else that make each day a little easier, not only are you not allowed to gather those items, but you also won't be able to see your family. While each child's story is different; that's the reality of so many who enter the foster care system.

Now imagine that when you arrive to the next location you are given a new friend. A friend who is warm and soft and cuddly, but most importantly something that is yours. You're given some of those personal care items, and a few goodies. Maybe, just maybe those moments might not seem so scary.

The MAS3 Foundation has been busy, teaming up with a local group to help make the scenario above possible. Many know that Morgan had expressed a desire to become involved with the foster care community. Because of your generosity MAS3 was able to partner with American Heritage Girls MO3110 on their service project of stuffing duffle bags for foster children. Each bag has items for that specific age group like personal care items, goodies, a stuffed animal along with a certificate, among other items. The bags are given to school districts around the area along with a couple of organizations who help provide items for foster families and children. While this is an annual event for American Heritage Girls, their dedication to this project continues to impress us. This year they were able to pack 250 bags!
