Beautiful Masterpieces of Memories

Granny shared a picture with Morgan's mom and I the other day, it was a picture of Morgan dying Easter eggs and saying her finger was "a mesh". She didn't realize that she had egg coloring on her face too. So often, we are focused on whats immediately in front of us that we forget to see the bigger picture; we see the mess in the moment and forget the beauty in whats being created.

Ever the art kid, Morgan was always trying to make something and could see the beauty and wonder in everything. To everyone else she might have been making a huge mess but to her she was in her element creating, expressing and experimenting. Several months after Morgans passing, Granny found a remnant of those messes in flecks of glitter from one Morgans slime creations. I'm sure her first thought was "how in the world is that just now showing up"; then the memories of those messes came flooding back, remembering how happy and content she was in those moments.

We encourage you to embrace the mess and enjoy the creations your children or grandchildren make. Let them explain what they were drawing or painting, celebrate their joy and imagination, get a little messy. Those are the memories your kids will remember. They won't care about how clean your house is or how many toys they had. They will remember sitting in the basement designing a rocket out of a 2 liter bottle, hot glue, paint and cardboard. They will remember the giggles and the beautiful masterpieces of memories you created with them.
